ReceptIVFity test for home sample collection

How does the test work?

How does the ReceptIVFity home test work?

01 Order the test online

You order the test from our online store. You pay using iDeal or another payment method of your choice. If you order before 11.00, the test is usually shipped the same day. This means that in most cases, you’ll have the test at home the next day. If you order on Saturday, the test will be delivered to you on Tuesday.

PLEASE NOTE

We recommend discussing with your doctor when it’s best to collect the sample.

1. Collect your sample
Follow the simple instructions in the package to collect your sample at home.

2. Keep your unique code
You will find your personal code in the package. Keep it safe; you will need it later to view your result.

3. Package and send
Place the sample in the packaging provided, following the instructions, and send it to the laboratory.

If you have taken the test yourself, package it as described in the instructions. You can then send the test back to our laboratory in the return box provided. You can simply post it through a mailbox, and it is completely free.

Keep the card with the unique code included in the package safe and/or take a photo of it. You will need this unique code to request your test result.

As soon as the test arrives, we get to work and analyze it in our laboratory.

In the laboratory, the vaginal sample is analyzed to determine whether the uterus is receptive to embryo implantation at that time. The ReceptIVFity test provides insight into the conditions for embryo implantation and helps determine a suitable time for embryo transfer.

Once we have finished analyzing your test, you will receive the results through this website. Analysis usually takes 5 business days from the time it arrives at our laboratory. You can then access your results using the code included with your test. We will prepare a report containing all the information your fertility doctor needs.

What does your ReceptIVFity score mean?

The score measures your implantation timing

The ReceptIVFity score shows how suitable the uterine lining is at this moment for an embryo transfer. Timing plays a bigger role than many people realize – and that is exactly what this test helps you understand.

Every result is personal. Discuss together what the score means for your treatment journey and what the best next step is.

Was the score less positive than expected?

The ReceptIVFity score shows how suitable the uterine lining is at this moment for an embryo transfer. Timing plays a bigger role than many people realize – and that is exactly what this test helps you understand.

  • whether it would be advisable to postpone the treatment for a little while
  • when it may be useful to take a new test
  • which other factors play a role in your situation

Making a decision together

The decision to start IVF or ICSI treatment is always yours (and your partner’s), in consultation with your doctor.

Various factors may play a role in this decision:

  • the physical and emotional burden of treatment
  • the number of IVF or ICSI attempts that are still covered
  • any costs you will have to pay yourself
    other personal circumstances

The ReceptIVFity test provides insight into one of the factors that may affect the chance of pregnancy. Other factors, such as age, embryo quality and general health, also play an important role.

You can decide in consultation with your doctor whether you want to take the test. The test is very simple, has no side effects, and the results are available relatively quickly. It gives you insight into the likelihood that an embryo transfer will result in a pregnancy. The test result is valid for the next two months. The test acts as a “timing tool”: you can base your decision about whether to proceed with an embryo transfer at that time on the test result. Treatment is often postponed until a later date when the score is low. Please note: All decisions are entirely yours.

At the moment, patients have to pay for the test themselves. Of course, reimbursement by health insurers is an ongoing development. So always check with your doctor or insurer to see whether the test may be reimbursed for you.

The test costs €399 (including VAT) in the online store. If you get the test through your clinic, the cost may vary depending on any additional consultation fees. Ask your clinic for the exact price.

You can check here to see where the test is available.

The test is packaged in a small box, which you receive from your doctor or order yourself through the webshop. It contains a long cotton swab and a tube of liquid (buffer). You take the vaginal swab yourself. This means using the cotton swab to collect some vaginal mucus. Clear instructions are included. You then place the cotton swab (swab) in the tube of liquid.

If you received the test from your doctor, return it to them. They will ensure it is sent to the laboratory correctly for analysis.
For a home test, follow the instructions to send the collected sample back to the lab, and you can request the results yourself. Take the results to your doctor.

Because you can also order the test for home collection, this is possible. However, it is important to discuss ordering the test and when to take it with your doctor first. The test results may affect the choices you make during your fertility treatment. The test results are valid for a limited time only (a maximum of two months).
No, only a small amount of vaginal mucus is collected from you and analyzed.
Collecting vaginal mucus is very straightforward with the cotton swab. The cotton swab is suitable for self-collection. The advanced processing and analyses are carried out in the laboratory.
The results will be sent to your doctor after about a week. If you take the test at home, you can request the results yourself after about a week.
The test result is validated for two months from the date the test is taken. Over time, the composition of bacteria can change. So it can certainly be useful to take the test again after some time to see whether the timing is more suitable for an embryo transfer. You can discuss this with your doctor.

Yes, the test is anonymous. This means that the sample collected contains only a unique number. If you received the test through your doctor, your doctor knows that the number belongs to you. The laboratory and ARTPred staff only see the number, and never your personal details.

For a home test, you have the unique number, which you can use to access your results (so make sure you keep this number safe!). In this case too, the laboratory and ARTPred staff only see the number, never your personal details.
